In 2002, the bank started its microfinance operations under the Kapit Bisig Program in order to intensify its efforts in poverty alleviation by catering to the entrepreneurial poor. On September 2003, the bank received the Plaque of Recognition and Appreciation from Philippine Credit Finance Corporation for having successfully extended microfinance services to 12,204 marginalized loans in Zambales, Pampanga and Bataan.
